The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications at the moment are open and may shut on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the subsequent requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home with a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household money will not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the right Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected of their South African ID.
NSFAS my nsfas only funds individuals who are studying or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
